Item Description
This Canadian set was issued in 1951 under the name "Parkies Colour Comic Card Bubble Gum". ACC #V339-3. There are 39 in the set, each is 1.75x2.5" featuring characters from popular comic strips of the time. Cards were issued in a cardboard pack, w/six cards per 5¢ pack. Pack includes portraits representing the characters featured in this set and includes Popeye, Dick Tracy and Terry. Scattered edge wear/aging. VG. This lot includes 13 cards, 12 different and one duplicate. Strip titles and card numbers are: Dick Tracy 3(2),6,8; Popeye 9,16; Abbie & Slats 18; Terry & The Pirates 23,25,26,28; Captain And The Kids 30,32. Three different back varieties were issued. In this lot, four are blank while the rest are "Frostade" w/premium offer of a plastic gun. Corner tip wear and margin aging but clean and bright images. EX overall. The pack is rare.
