13.5x17-3/8" frame contains "Shield G-Man Club Bulletin No. 27" comic book ad that has been professionally and attractively double-matted to 6.25x8" and has anti-Hitler and anti-Axis content, lower half is order form to join club, and mentions member's card (see following item #2276) and shows member's badge, which has also been double-matted below. Ad has moderate even aging and 4.5" creases along top margin. VG/Fine. Button is 1.25" dia. size variant issued by "Pep Comics" in 1943 featuring classic image of The Shield bending metal beam w/"Truth - Justice - Patriotism - Courage" code and "Shield G-Man Club" name at top. NM. "Pep Comics" was the comic book title that introduced the superhero character The Shield, the first of the super-patriotic heroes w/a costume based on the American flag (pre-dating Captain America by over a year). Great display.
