Item Description
18-1/8x18-7/8x3" deep frame contains near set of five badges ranging in size from 1.25" to 2.5" diameter. Brass badges issued as members advanced rank in the Quaker Cereal-sponsored radio club of 1938-1939. Missing lowest rank "Member" badge but includes "Second Year" badge which is same design w/just "Second Year" text added. Also missing the ultra-rare "Patrol Leader" badge which we've only seen twice in our 48 years. Each badge has Dick Tracy portrait and reads "Dick Tracy Secret Service Patrol" plus the ranks of "Second Year Member, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain", and "Inspector General." Also included in professionally and attractively framed display is 8.5x14" certificate for the club, issued in 1938. Certificate includes Dick Tracy portrait, facsimile seal w/Quaker cereal boxes and facsimile signature of Dick Tracy Jr. At right is "Promotion Record" w/designated areas for placement of four different rank insignia foil stickers, highest being noted as "Inspector-General." Certificate has been folded vertically three times as issued, w/right half having more moderate aging. Unused and Fine overall. Both certificate and badges have been double-matted. Badges are relief-mounted and are easily removed if so desired. Scattered luster wear, heaviest on "Lieutenant," which is VG. Rest are Fine to VF and all display nicely as framed.
