Item Description
Lot of three 3.75x10.5" illustrated cardboard cards, each bearing same images of American World War I soldiers, tents, ambulances, cavalry unit and bi-plane seen in bkg. Cards hold number of nickel-plated cast iron soldiers/horse/equipment. Grey Iron Casting Company, c. 1917. Offered here are - Set No. 1 "Company A" w/seven soldiers, flagbearer, trumpet player and drummer; Set No. 5 "Battery E" w/cavalry officer on horseback and two horses pulling canon w/total of four soldiers; and Set No. 6 "Battery F" w/three soldiers (two carrying shells), pile of artillery shells and artillery gun. Each piece in each set is attached to metal rail which was then attached to bottom of card. Two of these have comes loose and cards show scattered aging/wear. "Company A" card is missing most of bottom edge. VG. Others are Fine overall. Cast-iron pieces have some lt. aging and are VF/Exc.
