Item Description
Fawcett Publications, Inc. pair. First is 4" dia. stiff paper premium "Capt. Marvel E-Z Code Finder" that consists of pair of discs fastened at center w/rivet. Top disc includes Captain Marvel image sending code while disc rim shows portraits and comic book ads for "Spy Smasher, Bulletman, Captain Midnight, Captain Marvel Jr." Additional text mentions Captain Marvel's comic book appearances and "Fawcett Comics Are The Best." Second disc has "True-Code" letters which are visible through die-cut opening at top. Decoder shows lt. wear from use w/.5" crease at handle and paperclip impression opposite. VF/Exc. Scarce. 3.25x5.5" subscriber postcard acknowledging receipt of $1 yearly subscription fee for "Capt. Marvel Adventures" which has been filled out in ink, along w/subscription fee and expected first issue (March). Reverse has been hand-addressed in ink and bears March 10, 1943 postmark. Moderate but even aging. VF. Scarce piece of Fawcett ephemera.
