Item Description
Four-piece floor train set w/free-wheeling cast iron wheels measures 42" long overall. This is painted variety (see nickel-plated variety #1293). c. 1920s. Locomotive has moving side rails. Tender (coal car) has raised "999" on sides. Both passenger cars have raised "New York Central & Hudson River" name on both sides. Locomotive, tender and one passenger car complete. Other passenger car has .75x1" piece of each platform end broken off. Roofs of passenger cars have heavy paint wear w/most gone and train has scattered all over paint wear, most noticeable to black areas. Scattered aging and a few small spots of lt. oxidation but still displays Fine overall.
