Item Description
Ornate 31x45" frame contains 27.25x41" one-sheet movie poster printed by Morgan Litho. Co. of Cleveland, OH. for the original release of "The Collegians - Running Wild," a 1927 short from a four-year series of 44 two-reel silent comedies, in which the same players played the same roles through four years of college life, as envisioned by Hollywood's screenwriters of the mid-1920s. Presented by Carl Laemmle Jr., "Running Wild" was directed by Nat Ross and starred George Lewis, Hayden Stevenson and Dorothy Gulliver. Top half of poster features great scene of college youths watching car race, w/two cars seen neck-and-neck w/one another. Car in foreground is decorated w/a vast array of slogans, some including - "I May Rattle But I'm No Tin Car, California All Busted Up, Not Nervous - Just Shakey" and others. Originally folded, poster has had some scattered professional restoration to bottom half of poster, mainly visible only on red text areas. Rest of poster retains bright and bold colors and displays Exc. as professionally and attractively double-matted and framed. Very rare and first we've seen.
