Item Description
Glossy 8-1/8x10" original publicity photo bears ©1944 L.R. Inc. mark at lower right and Detroit, MI. photographer's mark on back. Photo shows radio's Lone Ranger Brace Beemer astride Silver w/an additional horse there as a Silver "stand-in." Photo has some lt. margin wear but o/w Exc. Comes w/8.5x11" July 1954 issue of "The American Horseman Sportologue" which features ad for George W. Trendle/The Lone Ranger, Inc. w/photo of white stallion and text reading "We Are Interested In Buying A Pure White Stallion Between The Ages Of 4 And 6 Years As A 'Stand-In' Or Substitute For...'Hi-Yo Silver'." This ad dates ten years later than that of photo, indicating Silver was frequently substituted for in appearances. Catalog has some handling wear w/pinch creases to spine and scattered small age spotting. Fine. A very different pair for the Lone Ranger collector.
