Item Description
Lot of four 2.25x3" cardboard sleeves w/opening that hold celluloid picture inserts. Picture frame-like border design pressed into the cardboard sleeve around the opening w/matching foreign product/store/telephone number imprint. Each has neat action activated by slightest movement from thumb. Four w/Mickey Mouse images include - Mickey on chimney as a chimneysweep, w/boxing gloves punching speed bag and an unusual depiction of him w/over-sized head holding his tail and wagging a finger. Other depicts Minnie Mouse cooking. From a scarce 1930s series for which we've seen others that had store imprints (such as offered here w/coffee-roasting factory imprint) and variety w/o imprint. Cardboard frames have even aging. Minnie Mouse has 5/8" and .75" surface cracks at top/bottom center of sleeve front w/tape repair to 2.25" crack on sleeve back. This frame is VG while others are VF/Exc. and all images are NM. Scarce series. From the Doug & Pat Wengel Collection.
