Item Description
5x9x5.5" deep tin litho tin w/hinged lid and pair of attached carrying handles. Made in Italy w/"Vernetti" company name on inside of lid. 1940s. Tin features an unusual assortment of Disney characters and scenes, including 12 portraits on lid including Mickey Mouse wearing top hat, Donald Duck wearing cowboy hat, Goofy, Pluto, Dopey, Little Hiawatha, Bambi, Pegleg Pete and four others including an Indian swami. Side panel scenes depict Donald w/shotgun, woodpecker sitting on end of barrel; Pablo Penguin at his stove; The Big Bad Wolf chasing rabbit and Western scene w/Panchito and Bucky Bug who lassos plucked chicken. Very attractive looking tin w/all of the character images against a bright reflective gold bkg. Handles have a couple of minor bends, outside of tin has overall scattered traces of paint wear in the form of small nicks and scratches, but still bright and clean w/vibrant luster. Fine/VF.
