3" tall (5.5" tall to top of upright handle) tin litho sand pail made in Japan, 1930s. Seam is marked "Registered Trademark - Made In Japan." Pail features great scene showing full body image of Betty Boop w/Minnie Mouse-like character balancing on a ball while dog rides tricycle in bkg. Interior of pail shows moderate/heavy wear at bottom but main exterior panel remains clean w/even aging and a few scattered nicks/scratches. Bottom rim has some oxidation. Choice, vibrant art remains bright and glossy. Fine overall. Very rare and first we've offered in our 48 years.
