Item Description
13x27x15" tall illustrated cardboard body toy chest w/wood frame and metal carrying handles. 1938. By Odora Co., Inc. of New York, ©1938 Walt Disney. Odora produced a number of different Disney toy chests, this example features image of Mickey and Minnie Mouse on lid, holding picture of Pluto. Front side has carousel image w/Clarabelle Cow, The Goof, Horace Horsecollar w/Mickey, Minnie and Pluto. Left side panel features image of Mickey as minstrel, serenading Princess Minnie. Right side panel features Mickey playing piano as Minnie dances atop it. Underside of lid features large full body image of Mickey w/"Girls And Boys - I'm For Your Toys" text. Lid has bowed inwards a bit and lid has 1.25" to 1.5" tears at left/right. Lid has scattered age spotting and bottom third of left panel has moderate moisture staining. Front wooden rail has pulled away from edge but overall, chest remains structurally sound and is still very displayable. VG/Fine overall. Scarce.
