Item Description
Celluloid figure depicting Santa Claus w/lantern in hand and sack over his shoulder is mounted to a 2.5" dia. gold luster tin base. Total height of 7.25". Marked "Made In Japan" on back w/complete tax stamp. c. 1930. Separate head is mounted to a nodding mechanism which has an attached counterweight. Underside of base has a winder and toy works perfectly, Santa's head nodding back and forth. Small trace of wear to base. Minor crack at neck as produced, but all remains structurally sound. Works. Figure has trace of aging and is VF overall. Original plain cardboard box w/lid has label reading "Wind-Up Santa Claus Cart" as well as original store price sticker. Box contains 4.5" long by 6.5" tall (to top of celluloid umbrella) w/built-in key on side and tin litho wheels. Attached cello cart is filled w/toys including Kewpie doll and teddy bear. Cart is pushed by full figure of Santa Claus and has attached umbrella w/dangling decorations that spins when wound. 1950s. Works well. Toy is NM. Box has lt. aging to label/sticker and is o/w Exc.
