Item Description
1930s. .75" dia. brass lapel stud w/threaded post and cap reverse originally had silver flashing, although nearly all silvering has been lost over time on the front, w/much remaining on reverse. Rare early design from Street & Smith, publishers of "The Shadow" pulp magazine. Image is totally different from usually seen design (see item #1374). On this, The Shadow's hat is different shape, his nose is more prominent, his cape is positioned differently. Other than silvering loss, no damage. Few examples are known and we have only offered two others in our 48 years.
