Large 9.75" tall tin litho w/11.25" dia. opening. Produced by Geuder, Paeschke & Fry Co. of Milwaukee, WI. 1936. They produced two different waste baskets as well as the classic Mickey Mouse lunch kit. This one features Mickey and Minnie Mouse, their Nephew, Pluto, Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow on boat. Donald Duck can be seen floating on "S.S. Sunk" life preserver ring. The other waste basket this company produced featured these same characters atop a mountain. See page 96 of Disneyana by Munsey for this company's items. Bottom and lower edge of interior has heavy oxidation, but this has stabilized and has no holes. Underside of bottom shows a few spots of lt. oxidation, but most goldtone luster remains. Seam has 1" spot of oxidation at bottom that shows on exterior. Rim has moderate scattered wear in the form of small nicks/flakes and sides have slightest age fading w/a few scattered nicks/scratches, but exterior remains bright and glossy for the most part. VG overall. A true Disneyana rarity.
