Item Description
Sizes are 7/8” up to 2” for the golf item. Group begins with four of the very earliest sports related pins from 1896. Each has a tin frame with reverse stickpin. Front is a slightly domed paper held by the frame edge. While others exist, the four here are “Bicycle Race/Trotting Race/Foot-ball/Boxing Match.” Tiny wear but overall Exc. Next is 2” long brass bar pin with name “Esco” on the reverse. Designed as a pair of crossed golf clubs with the circular area reading “Women’s Western Golf Assn.” and with quote “Low Net” on the ribbon surrounding the club shafts. Mint and probably from the 1930s. The next six rows are pinback buttons with exception of the last item which is a lapel stud. Vast majority of these pieces are from the early 1900’s up to 1920 with just a couple more recent. Among them are early Santa Claus, Horlick’s Malted Milk, Swift button from 1901 expo, Black Cat Polish, Pillsbury’s flour, and five other in the 1.25” size. Bottom four rows are mostly 7/8” and include “Smoke ‘Billy Boy’ For Pipe Or Cigarettes”, Gold Dust Twins, Buster Brown, Amos ‘N ‘Andy, Flexible Flyer sled, a pair for Lion Coffee and many others. Tiny trace of age on just a couple. An extremely clean lot of early material.
