Item Description
The St. Louis Hawks professional basketball team began as the Buffalo Bisons in 1946 and the team exists today as the Atlanta Hawks. During 1955-1968 they were the St. Louis Hawks and in 1958 the franchise won their only NBA Championship. 6.75" dia. heavy ceramic tray has image of "World Champions 1957-58" trophy at center surrounded by portrait images of the 1958 Championship team, including Basketball HOF members Coach Alex Hannum, Cliff Hagan, Ed McCauley, Slater Martin and Bob Pettit among others. Denver M. Wright, Jr. Co. of St. Louis, MO. Gold luster accent rim shows scattered wear but tray is VF overall. Comes w/3-3/8" dia. cello-covered pinback button w/the 1957-1958 Hawks logo as Championship crown has been added to Hawk logo. Glossy and Exc. Both are rare and early NBA collectibles.
