Item Description
Sizes are 2.75” down to 1.25” tall. First is on card naming maker Dieges & Clust. Small creases and soil on the card but the medal remains in Exc. condition. Front scene of two boys with panel of marbles at left. Reverse text “Jersey Journal/Y.M.C.A./Marbles Tournament/School Champion.” Next in octagonal shape has front text “National Marble Tournament.” Shown are two boys at play plus a seated score keeper. Reverse raised text “1932/Philadelphia/Schools & Playground/Championship/Awarded By/The Evening Bulletin.” Next on card ink stamped with name of a NY maker has blue ribbon and safety pin suspending medal showing two boys at play. Front reads “National Marble Tournement/Jersey Observer/Champion.” Reverse has date of 1938 and maker name “Minero/N.Y.” Minor wear on the card. Last is rectangular medal with 1945 date on reverse and stamp “Sterling/Deiges & Clust.” Front shows boy at play against the background of a leaf design with overall background designed as a newspaper page. Text is “Daily Mirror/N.Y. City/Dep’t Of Parks/Marble/Tournament.” Metals are in Exc. condition and all are very limited issues.
