Item Description
Mirror is 2x3-1/8”. Underside has glass with beveled edges. Extensive crazing of the silvering and with small stain on the surrounding celluloid edges. From the front only minimal stain shows on the left and other edges. Lower panel reads “The Coast Swimming Pool/Coney Island.” Upper panel has address and text “On The Boardwalk.” Still has nice gloss. Fine. Next are a pair of stiff cards each 4” wide. First is a “Complimentary” pass ink dated for 1927 given to William Mangels, the famous carousel builder and with his name ink signed as “Mr. Wm. C. Mangels” with the pass ink signed by Manager “Thos. Asson.” This is a “season” pass to the “Tunician Village Co./Oriental Productions.” Depicted is a camel. Exc. Second for 1937 is a single day pass with typed name “Mr. Sawyer Thompson And Family” (this was a member of the family of the park’s co-founder Frederick Thomspon). Card has a light crease just in from the right hand side and tiny traces of soil but still VF. A rare mirror and two unique passes.
