Item Description
Each is 7/8”. First has black metal covered back and vertical pin with stamped surface naming maker Minks, Baltimore. Front of this advertises a stage production and reads “Compliments Of Gilmore & Leonard.” Text on the Kid’s shirt reads “Say Wat For Me/I’m Wid Gilmore & Leonard/In/Hogans Alley/See.” The Kid is endorsing an 1898 stage production titled in full “Gilmore & Leonard In Their Irish Nonsensicality/Hogan’s Alley.” Second is a text button promoting the same play. This has a W&H back paper from 1898 although it is stained and the front of the button also has stain marks although it retains its gloss. Third is a non-licensed use of the Kid by the artist Thomas Dorgan. This was a giveaway with back paper from “Tokio Cigarettes.” Front reads “I’m The Guy That Put The Yell In Yellow Kid.” Last are a pair of buttons promoting “There Is Only One Yellow Kid/Big Bubble Chewing Gum.” These are two distinct varieties with the first having flesh tone and red color on the circle while the other does not have any flesh tone or red. All are NM displaying Mint with the one exception.
