Item Description
Each of the first two Ralston premiums are from 1949. Group begins with 4x5.75” mailer which just has light traces of wear. With it comes the instruction card for the “Signal Arrowhead” which was sent folded but opens to 4.5x7”. This is lightly tanned but otherwise undamaged. The arrowhead itself is clear Lucite plastic 3.75” long. Text reads “Tom Mix Ralston Straight Shooters Signal Arrowhead.” There is a whistle in one end, a siren whistle, a reducing glass and a magnifying glass. See this same premium but issued for Cisco Kid as #1123. Arrowhead is essentially Mint. The second 1949 premium is a brown plastic miniature television 1x1-5/16x5/8” deep. Brass plate on back reads “Replica Of RCA Television Set For Tom Mix Ralston Straight Shooters.” With this comes the paper that was in the packaging and this details the “Answers To Tom Mix Mysteries” which were shown on some of the enclosed circular films to be inserted in the TV and viewed from the front lense. The correct number of five films are here and three feature the character Little Stephen Screwloose while two of the films feature Tom titled “Tom Mix In The Mystery Of The Murdered Trapper” and “Tom Mix Shows How To Stretch Your Thumb.” The envelope that held the film is also present. Last is a gold plated television the same size as the other one but this is known to be from 1950. While it doesn’t mention Tom’s name it has long been understood in the hobby that 200 of these were produced only for Ralston executives. Other than the tanned instruction card all items are NM to Mint.
