Item Description
One of the main features of this club, extremely popular in the Mid-west, were events known as “Air Races” which attracted thousands of fans gathering to watch young contestants piloting their model airplanes. These are four rare pieces awarded only to participants. First is 1.5” “Sterling” badge with front text “Jimmie Allen Air Races/Skelly/1934.” Second is 7/8” tall also “Sterling” and also with tiny logo of sponsor Skelly with additional text “1936 Jimmie Allen Air Races.” Next is a bracelet with text “Jimmie Allen/Skelly/1935/Air Races.” Center depicts an airplane. Last is a “Sterling” bracelet. This is undated but has Skelly logo and text “Jimmie Allen Air Races.” Other than a little tarnish pieces are all essentially Mint. Rare awards.
