Item Description
Large 14.5x18.25x5" deep cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains all plastic assembly kit No. 470, ©1964 Universal Pictures Company Inc. Box design includes great large portrait image of Frankenstein as portrayed by Glenn Strange plus photos of model being assembled and put into action. Box notes assembled model is almost two feet tall w/arms that move up and down. Frankenstein comes w/headstone piece and simulated chain link which attaches to this. Parts are black/light and dark gray plastic, chain links in bronze/copper plastic. Kit also 100% complete and unused. Includes instruction sheet, original paint brush and three small glass bottles of paint (complete w/original tape securing them to one another). Chain parts have been removed from sprues and original bag. Other pieces have been removed from bags as well. Instruction sheet has tanned w/age but is o/w exceptionally clean. Box lid has two original store price stickers and shows corner tip wear w/some age spotting and rippling to surface paper, but box remains tight w/some scattered color rubs and surface paper flakes along corner edges. Box bottom has one corner partially split. Fine overall. The largest figure kit Aurora ever released, it was designed by Marvin Glass who also designed Mr. Machine, Mousetrap and the Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots among others. Affectionately referred to in the hobby as "Big Frankie" this kit is considered to be the holy grail of Aurora models by most collectors. Rare.
