12x20x2" deep cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains Marx set issued in England as the "Rapid Fire Hip Gun And Holster Set," but clearly a repackage of Marx's popular "The Official Mare's Laig - Wanted Dead Of Alive" set. c. 1950s. While package features no "Wanted Dead Or Alive" markings, its illustrations are clearly modeled after star Steve McQueen as this English set did not acquire the license from the show. Box lid has scattered dust soiling and handling wear w/heavy oxidation to corner staples. Complete w/die-cut cardboard insert, box is free of splits and Fine overall. Set includes 18.5" long plastic and metal "Cap Shooting - Shell Ejecting" Mare's Laig replica and comes w/10 1" long plastic shells (which show varying degrees of wear) w/original plastic bag. Gun has some pitting to metal action lever but is o/w unused and VF. Set also includes plastic belt and thin plastic leg strap w/metal buckle. Exc. Rare and first we've offered of this variety.
