Item Description
6" tall glass jar w/illustrated paper label and tin lid. Glaser, Crandell Co. 1930s. Lid features portrait of Mickey Mouse w/"Feed Mickey For Wealth - Eat Jam For Health" text. Coin slot appears across Mickey's mouth but unlike nearly every example found, still intact is tin piece (meant to be discarded) reading "Push Out." Lid shows trace wear w/a few tiny spots of paint off. VF. Sides of jar have raised full figure images of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Pluto and Horace Horsecollar. Still intact (again, almost always missing) is the beautifully illustrated wrap-around paper label that depicts Mickey and Pluto making and eating sandwiches, Minnie is shown bringing them a jar of this jam as Horace looks on. Label on back of text has title "Be A Mickey Mouse Banker." Text notes how when jar was empty the label was to be removed. Label has moderate scattered wear/aging w/some small stains and small nicks/tears at edges. Label is still Fine overall while jar itself is Exc. Rare, only the second example we've offered in our 48 years (the other was a jar of strawberry jam). This is the first example of raspberry we've been able to offer. Doug & Pat Wengel Collection.
