Box bottom only contains complete 11-piece set consisting of four place settings plus sugar (w/lid), creamer and teapot (w/lid). Made in Japan, c. 1930s. Distributed by Geo. Borgfeldt Corp. Original generic box bottom w/die-cut insert has "Orphan Annie Tea Set" label on one end. Box is aged and shows wear at corners. VG/Fine. Each place setting comes w/1.25" tall teacup and 3.25" dia. saucer. Set was issued w/o plates. Each of the four place settings feature different matching images including Orphan Annie selling newspapers, enjoying milkshake w/Sandy, selling pencils and ice skating while pulling Sandy's sled. Scattered minor paint wear to one saucer, o/w set is complete and Exc. Doug & Pat Wengel Collection.
