Item Description
Pair of 8.75x26.75" silk-screened felt pennants. Produced to promote the World Heavyweight Championship match between George Foreman, "World Heavyweight Champion" and Muhammad Ali, "The People's Champ" that took place Oct. 30, 1974 at the 20th Of May Stadium in Kinshasa, Zaire. Both pennants feature same design, just in different colors. One is teal while other is dark blue. Design features image of Africa w/Zaire outlined and star at Kinshasa's location. The match pitted the undefeated World Heavyweight Champion George Foreman against challenger Muhammad Ali, a former Heavyweight Champion. Ali won by knockout, putting Foreman down just before the end of the eighth round. Exc.
