Item Description
Pair of 27x41" one-sheet posters for the 1937 Universal Pictures 12-chapter movie serial based on the adventure comic strip of the same name created by Lyman Young that starred Frankie Thomas in the title role. First is original release poster for Chapter 3, "Into The Lion's Den" featuring great graphics of black panther attacking crocodile as serial's stars look on. Poster has been folded and has some lt. wear along fold lines w/tiny tears at fold crease intersections. Margins show lt. wear. VF overall. Comes w/linen-mounted poster for the 1940s re-release. This is for Chapter 12, "The Kimberly Diamonds" and features great scene of lion attacking elephant. Poster shows obvious wear w/.25" hole at top fold crease intersection and corner tip wear w/some small pieces missing. Lower left corner has 2" piece reattached as linen-mounted. VG overall but would still make a nice display if framed.
