Item Description
Lot of six approx. 7.25x10.25" double-sided pages (removed from original comic books), featuring early appearances by Batman. Complete six-page story from "Detective Comics" #28 (June 1939 - featuring second appearance of Batman) and six of 10 pages from "Detective Comics" #29 (July 1939 - featuring the first appearance of Doctor Death, Batman's first named villain). Second story is missing last four pages. Pages have even moderate aging and margins have some small tears/chips as paper is brittle w/age. Pages have holes punches at left margins. Lot is being sold as is. From the collection of Chip Kidd, renowned author, graphic designer and pop culture enthusiast extraordinaire and these pages were used in Les Daniels' 1999 Chronicle book "Batman: The Complete History."
