Item Description
Pair in two different sizes, 3" and 6.5" tall. Made in England, c. late 1930s. Underside of larger figurine is marked "Wadeheath England - Permission Walt Disney." This mischievous fish-snatching, music-making baby seal featured opposite Donald Duck in the 1936 cartoon "Mickey's Circus." Donald's efforts to train him ended up in one disaster after another. Unnamed at the time, this seal seems to have inspired Salty, Pluto's recurring seal foe in later 1940s cartoons. Rare figurines, the only item we've seen for this relatively obscure Disney character. Smaller has repaired flipper and displays VF while larger is NM.
