Item Description
The portrait button is 1.25” and Hake #9. No back paper as issued. Outstanding condition. Essentially Mint. The second item is a 7/8” litho cataloged as Hake #2062 as part of the Smith section. Curl carries the name of maker Green Duck Co. Chicago along with several union bugs. When we placed this button in the Smith section of Hake Book #2 we did so on the basis of a photo image and did not see the item in person at that time. Now that we have an example in hand we seriously doubt this could be a 1928 item and suspect it is an issue for some 1950s local candidate who simply came up with his own catchy slogan. Two pinpoint paint rubs near the center. Julie Powell Collection.
