Item Description
Majority of buttons are 1.75” with just a couple smaller plus one at 3”, one at 3.5” and a mate of that one at 6”. While many of the earlier buttons are identical in design each is different in that it holds a unique hanger of some type. The first two buttons, one with a 1953 dated ribbon, each hold a very large bronze luster metal attachment. Eight others have a ribbon and misc. attachments include a knife, big brass horse head, and jockey on horseback. Items after the 1950s include 3” with dated 1987 ribbon plus a pair of 3.5” and 6” buttons with identical design issued for the “100th Running Of Kentucky Derby May 4, 1974.” Third item in row 1 has worn gold lettering from the ribbon but rest of the ribbons are in nice condition. Buttons showing small traces of age in row 1 are #4 and two tiny dots on #5 and #6. In row 2 second button has some grey spotting. Rest are extremely clean. The most extensive collection we’ve seen. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
