Item Description
Sizes are 1” to 2.5”. The two buttons at the end of row 2 are litho while the rest are cello. In addition to the team names, five buttons depict skaters. First is Gerry Murray. Next is May Hansen. Cello has long split along top edge reverse although this shows just slightly from the front but front does have some scattered small marks. Next is Sid Harnesk. This button has been flattened and has much discoloration. Condition is only Fair on this one. Next is Carl Payne, and last is Jean Porter. This one has a good bit of air under the celluloid but viewed directly still displays cleanly. The one litho for “Westerners Roller Derby” has oxidation mark on top edge but otherwise and except as noted most are NM displaying Mint. The most extensive collection we’ve seen on this popular sport which made for exciting 1950s television viewing. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
