Item Description
First item is 3” tall with celluloid covers promoting the issuer “Vogel Brothers/Clothiers & Outfitters.” Interior of each celluloid cover is designed as a “Score Card.” The rest of the contents, all held together by a small brass rivet upon which they swivel, consists of two sheets designed to be cut as needed and to serve as an early form of band-aid. The final sheet is a stiff piece of cardboard with one side titled “New York National League Team Plays At Home With" (followed by a chart of team names and dates and then followed by a second chart showing the “Out Of Town” games.) The opposite side with same design is titled “New York American League Team Plays At Home With” followed by “Out Of Town” schedule. Essentially Mint. The next two items are each 3-7/8” long double sided celluloid scorers. There are cutouts and dials to count “Home Club” and “Visiting Club” hits, runs, errors, innings and outs. One of these was issued by and has advertising for “The New York Press/Holds The World’s Championship For Baseball News…” while the other promotes “Peter Doelger First Prize Bottled Beer.” Very minor age traces on the first which is still Exc. and the second is NM. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
