Item Description
11x14" double matted with 6x8.5" opening revealing typed letter on Hoover's FBI stationery dated "August 8, 1967". Hoover writes thanking a "Miss Elizabeth Bradley" for her letter on his 50th anniversary with the Department of Justice. Of note Hoover writes "I Have No Present Thought Of Retiring, And It Is My Hope To Remain In My Current Position As Long As I Can Be Of Service To Our Nation". Signed at conclusion "J. Edgar Hoover". Black ink has faded slightly but signature remains bold. Two tiny light brown dots in field otherwise VF. Hoover would remain Director of the FBI until his death in 1972.
