Item Description
First piece is die cut and embossed litho tin. Reverse has small tab holding a vertical stickpin. Metal back has light layer of oxidation while the front is beautifully colored with paint near 100% intact. He holds hatchet in his hands and wears a sash across his shoulder reading “Never Told A Lie.” Items with this type of reverse are c. 1916. Only example we’ve seen. Next is 2-1/8” button with W&H paper. Button uses George’s portrait as a rebus so center text reads “State Of (Washington) S.G.L. Baltimore, 1903.” Beautiful color scenes promoting the state industries of: Fisheries, Mining, Cedar Shingles, Shipping, Grain, Lumbering. NM and displays Mint. Last is 1-7/16” tall brass frame with tiny rope-like details plus a loop at the top. At the center mounted to a brass plate is a domed oval beautifully colored porcelain portrait of Washington. NM. Three rare Washington pieces.
