Item Description
Sizes are 1-3/16” to 2-5/8”. First is a circa 1890s silvered brass star badge with center sunburst surrounded by text “Band Of Mercy/Glory To God.” Across the center are initials referencing "Massachussetts Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals 1882." Base of the star points carry inscription “Kindness/Justice/Mercy/To/All.” Exc. Second is enamel on brass badge showing “Connecticut” state seal at center and surrounding text “American Veterinary Medical Assn. New Haven, Aug. 1906.” Earliest badge we’ve seen for this group. Next is a badge marked “Sterling” with blue enamel front circle reading “New York Women’s League For Animals.” Bottom carries date of 1911. Last is a large nickel plated brass badge, an official issue with the word “Agent” at the top a serial number “2” at the bottom and center text “Toledo Humane Society Lucas County, Ohio.” All items are NM to Mint.
