Item Description
This 1940s ring made of nickel has a solid band and is size 7.75. The band is designed as what would be a pair of arms with each ending in a boxing glove and each carrying the facsimile signature “Joe Louis.” They flank a very detailed high relief portrait of his head. This ring was a store item rather than a premium and perhaps its single origin was in Louis’s hometown of Detroit, the source for this example and one of only two or three we’ve ever seen. There is a tiny scuff on the tip of his nose and on his upper lip but this is so tiny as to be essentially microscopic and with normal viewing the piece displays Mint. This is a rare ring with less than ten known examples.
