Item Description
Lot of six sheets of 9.5x12" animation paper, each w/several rough pencil illustrations that served as working basis for the 1929 animated Disney short. The third Silly Symphony to be released, short featured flowers, insects, and a crow family dancing to music in celebration of Spring. After a brief storm, grasshoppers, frogs, and spiders dance to "The Dance Of The Hours." Sheets feature mainly insects dancing about, animators sketching out gags and designs. One sheet in particular is historically noteworthy as it features Oswald the Rabbit as a template for the insect characters. It is important to note that Oswald was no longer owned by Disney at this point. Sheets show scattered handling wear and are evenly aged. Some corner creases, sheets are Fine overall w/VF-Exc. art.
