Item Description
Original 4.75x7.5" glossy photo on heavy stock photographic paper. HOFer Martin Dihigo is seated on the ground at the right and wearing a "Caracas" uniform. Two other players stand at the left. Among the other men in the photo are "The Trio Matamoros" one of the most popular Cuban trova music groups. Band members are Miguel Matamoros, Rafael Cueto and Siro Rodriguez. The group toured all of Latin America and Europe during its career and recorded in New York, releasing many 78rpm records and LPs. The group stayed together nearly 45 years before disbanding in 1969. There was a mutual admiration between the group and Dihigo as evidence by this wonderful image. Slight trim to top margin. Blank reverse has some staining and surface paper adhered to corners as once scrapbook mounted. Some staining on the front but only to the blank side margins. Right side margin has pair of pinholes. Bottom center of image has tiny insect hole only noticeable upon close inspection. Image is sharp and clear. A very obscure Dihigo photo. Personally owned by Martin Dihigo and comes w/COA signed by his son Gilberto Dihigo.
