Item Description
Lot of proofs for both versions of Blind Faith's only album, released in 1969. Blind Faith were an English Blues/Rock band, one of the first "super-groups," comprised of Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, Steve Winwood and Ric Grech. Offered here is 14x14.75" front cover LP proof for Atco SD 33-304 featuring original cover image, which garnered controversy as it features a topless pubescent girl, holding in her hands a silver space ship which some perceived as a phallic symbol. Top has inked "No Progs Go As In" note referring to progressive proofs. Proof has handling wear and even lt. aging. Bottom margin has some wear w/tears and jagged 4" sliver off. VG. Due to the controversy, the US record company issued the album w/an alternative cover, showing a photograph of the band on the front. Lot includes three proofs of revised Atco SD 33-304B cover, included two proofs still connected. Scattered handling wear/aging. Fine/VF. As a bonus, lot includes back cover progressive proofs for Blind Faith member Eric Clapton's 1970 solo album, Atco SD 33-329. Scattered handling wear/aging w/some smudges to top proof. Fine/VF.
