Item Description
9" long plated metal letter opener has 2-3/8" folding knife blade in handle. Made in Germany by D. Peres Solingen for the Magnetic Cutlery Co. of Philadelphia, PA. Early 1900s. One side of letter opener handle has high relief Art Nouveau pastoral scene of nude woman playing mandolin for child as he eats fruit. Opposite side has raised "Wurlitzer Musical Instruments" text and double shield trademark. This item was produced during the early period that Wurlitzer was importing and making musical instruments. Scattered wear from use w/lt. patina to handle. VF.
