Item Description
Tall 11-3/8x32.25" paper poster for Sept. 4-6, 1970 "Open Air Love & Peace" festival held at the Isle of Fehmarn, Germany. Along w/a line-up that included Ten Years After, Sly & the Family Stone, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Canned Heat, Vanilla Fudge, Procol Harum, Rod Stewart and the Small Faces, The Incredible String Band, Joan Baez and others, Jimi Hendrix would perform his last concert before his untimely death just two weeks later on Sept. 18. Hendrix performed on the last day of this festival w/bandmates Mitch Mitchell and Billy Cox. Great art featuring overflowing field of foliage w/performers names incorporated into design, "Jimi Hendrix" being the largest among them at bottom center. Image of drummer is hidden in the field at top center, his kit having peace symbol drum head. The poster for this historic event was produced in several color varieties and two sizes, this is the smaller of the two in full color as opposed to larger bw version. Poster has some handling wear at top w/some creases and tiny 1/8" tear at top. VF/Exc. Historic poster for the greatest guitarist of all time.
