Original 9x11.25x2" deep cardboard box w/illustrated paper-covered lid originally held a dozen youth suspenders by Pioneer. ©1949 Nat'l Comics Pub., Inc. Box comes w/example pair of the suspenders that were contained within, 22.5" long elastic w/brass metal clips and slides w/"Superman" name and classic image of him breaking chains. Scattered aging/lt. wear. VF/Exc. Suspenders are rare. Box lid features great full body image of Superman landing and this image (though much smaller) along w/image of Superman breaking chains appears on all side panels. Box lid has even aging and paper covering has some scattered rippling w/corner tip/edge wear. Scattered faint moisture spots at bottom. Lid has some creases at corners but remains free of splits.
