Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains 5-7/8" tall celluloid wind-up depicting African-American sailor dancing w/his date. Box features stereotypical African-American images and notes "Made In Japan." Box shows moderate wear w/two .75" corner pieces off. Missing one inner flap w/another loose (but included). Good/VG. Comes w/white sailor version, both were made in Japan, 1930s. Both come w/original keys and work well. White sailor has some paint wear to white uniform w/scattered flaking but toys are both free of any dents/cracks and are VF-Exc. overall. African-American version is scarce toy and is even scarcer w/original box.
