Original paper covered cardboard box is covered w/wonderfully illustrated Disney images including Mickey and Minnie Mouse in various activities whereas most tea sets came in generic boxes. Box has original insert w/die-cut openings for each piece. Box contains complete nine-piece set w/matching lids from the 1930s in matching design to similar tea sets including Mickey and Minnie images. Label on side of box notes set was made in Japan and has "Mickey And Minnie Mouse Toy Tea Sets" text w/Geo. Borgfeldt Corporation distributor name. Box shows scattered aging/wear but retains its shape and is Fine overall. Set includes six small 2" tall canisters, pair of larger 3.25" tall canisters and 2.5" tall salt box. All complete w/lids. Images on smaller canisters include Mickey w/bubble wand (3) and ice skating (3). These and the two larger canisters have "Made In Japan" stamped on undersides. Salt box has additional "Mickey Mouse - Copyr. By Walt Disney - Made In Japan" mark on underside. Aside from 1/8" hairline at corner of salt box (as fired), set is Exc./NM. Rare, especially w/box.
