Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains nicely designed and colorful mostly tin litho toy. Marx, 1950s. Box shows moderate wear w/dust soiling and tanning to the white areas but colors remain strong. 1" puncture to lid w/noticeable moisture stain by left end flap. Still tight and displays Fine. Smaller box contains 2x11" long wind-up train w/hard plastic engine having built-in key w/attached tin litho tender and cars. Tender is marked "Erie," coal car is marked "Norfolk And Western," boxcar is marked "Santa Fe" and caboose is marked "Union Pacific." Wind-up works well. 13x21.5x2.5" tall tin litho base shows overhead view of town including farm, airport, houses/buildings, city streets, train platform, numerous vehicles, people, etc. Tin litho tunnel attached at one corner w/hard plastic road gate and track signal units which move when train travels around the track also attached. Train and base show only slightest trace of wear and are Exc./NM for display.
