Item Description
Lot of four Bill Graham concert posters designed by David Singer. All are first and only printings. Three are from 1970 concerts and one from 1971 concerts that took place at Fillmore West in San Francisco, CA. Each is approx. 14x21". BG-232 is for May 7-10 concerts that featured Lee Michaels, Small Faces (w/Rod Stewart), Catfish and Shorty (w/Georgie Fame). Design features large water droplet w/image of machinist falling at center of classical building. Creases at top and lower left corners. Fine. BG-240 is for June 25-28 concerts that featured Sha-Na-Na, Pacific Gas Electric, Dan Hick & His Hot Licks, Traffic and Leon Russell. Design features composite photo showing cliffside. Top margin has some wear w/1/8" tear at center and some scuffing w/small crease at upper left corner. Fine/VF. BG-254 is for Oct. 29-31 concerts that featured Procol Harum, Poco, Mungo Jerry and Small Faces (w/Rod Stewart). Design features composite photo of astronaut carrying baby monkey. Some lt. handling wear w/corner bumps. VF. BG-271 is for Feb. 25-28, 1971 concerts that featured New Riders of the Purple Sage, Boz Scaggs as well as James & The Good Brothers. Design (w/assistance from Wilfred Satty) features image of looming Uncle Sam and US military might coming over horizon towards Chinese man wearing Dragon coat. Crease along upper left w/creases at bottom corners. Fine/VF.
