Item Description
First is Marx "Sparkling Climbing Tractor Set" that has assembled size of 5.5x9.5x5" tall and comes in original illustrated cardboard box. Early 1950s. Box has one inside end flap loose (but included), left flap has crease at center and there is a 1" V-shaped puncture at top left edge. Other scattered lt. edge creases but box is still clean and VG. Body of tractor (w/built-in key) is nicely detailed tin litho w/visible motor. Tractor has plastic wheel hubs and black rubber treads. Complete w/removable tin plow blade and three-dimensional tin litho driver. Has small instruction paper for attachment of plow although this is creased and has several edge tears. Works, traveling forward when wound although the sparking mechanism no longer works as flint is missing. A few minor scattered paint marks on tractor's body but o/w Exc. Original illustrated cardboard box contains smaller 5.5" long "Climbing Tractor" w/hard plastic body, wheel hubs and three-dimensional driver figure. One-piece tin litho undercarriage/engine unit. Original rubber treads. Late 1950s. Box is complete and has large inked name and shows scattered wear w/.25" edge puncture. VG. Tractor's treads could use cleaning but is o/w Exc.
