Item Description
13/16x1-3/8" 14 Karat gold case Lord Elgin watch presented to employee at GMC's Fisher Body Division upon 25 years employment. Fisher Body is an automobile coachbuilder founded by the Fisher Brothers in 1908 in Detroit, MI. It was a division of General Motors for many years, before being slowly phased out in the 1980s as a stand-alone brand, merging into the other GM divisions such as Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac, etc. Back of case has engraved inscription reading "Fisher Body Division - Master Craftsman - Herman A. Wolfgram - 8/16/28 To 12/31/53." Dial features bold "GMC" logo at top w/sunken second hand dial at bottom center. Case has scattered trace wear but most luster remains. Watch is running and Exc. "Lizard Calf" band is new replacement.
